Learn How To Promote With YouTube

Whether you are just starting out on Youtube or have been using it for awhile, I'm sure you had to learn how to promote your videos and market yourself.  I am currently on a journey to learn how to do this successfully and efficiently.  I've been reading lots of informative blogs and listening to many Youtubes to find the best ways to do this.

So here's a list of things that I have found necessary to help grow your Youtube channel.

1) Customize your channel. Make it your own. Include some information about yourself or your business and add a profile picture. People like to connect with real people, it's much less personal if you use a generic image.

2) Choose good keywords for your videos.  Do your research.

3) Add your business url to your videos.  Draw people in.

4) Use many different calls to action. You want people to interact with you so in this day and age you must ask them and sometimes in several varied ways.

Please rate this video.  Thumbs up if you like it! Leave me a comment. Subscribe to my video. Please share it with your friends.
Follow me on social media. Check out my channel.

5) Soft Sell. Market gently.

6) Visit similar themed videos to yours and leave a comment.

7) Create a playlist.  This is something I"ve yet to try but sounds interesting.
How it works:
Add your video to a new playlist
Add good videos on the same topic from other people
Choose a great searchable name for the playlist

8) You made your videos, now you have to promote them. Use your social media sites to share. Embed a clip on your blog, like I've done. Email your videos to friends or a contact list. Ask them to share.

I hope these tips will help you as you either begin or continue your Youtube journey!

Thanks for visiting my channel, subscribing and liking. Let me know if I can do the same for you!

Holiday Selling Tips for Your Online Shop

I hope you’re working hard and steady on your marketing strategy for the busy holiday season. Here are a few tips to get your shop ready for the holiday selling season. I feel like I've been working on Christmas and holiday designs for awhile already.  I’m sure you know that the stores in the shopping malls have already got holiday items on their shelves. Seasonal and promotional items, holiday and Christmas displays are popping up everywhere. It seems before one holiday or event is over the next one is in full swing.

Big box stores have decorated Christmas trees and many holiday themed items on display. When people see these items it starts the ball rolling and many people start purchasing their gifts earlier and earlier every year. Personally I feel it is a little too early for me to see Christmas items in the stores in October but as an online small business owner I understand that one has to get on board and be prepared well in advance to have our online stores and websites prepared for those early shoppers.

Marketing research and trends show that more and more people are shopping online and this surely will only increase with the convenience of shopping from the comfort of one’s home!

So how do you get your online store ready. Well, first off you must have a plan, this is so important. Take a look at your inventory and decide what you need or want to showcase in your store. What are the trends and items that will attract customers to buy in your shop. What will be your big holiday sellers this year? Is there something particular that you want to feature? Do a review of what items sold well for you last year and what items didn’t move at all. With millions of online businesses the competition is fierce and just thinking that the customers will come and buy from you without you putting in some serious marketing efforts is pretty silly.

Use all available social media platforms that you are active in. Just do it subtly, nobody wants to just see a big push of your items, add something of value when you can. Perhaps offer a sale coupon or a contest.

When marketing add appropriate hash tags, like #holidayspecials, #holidaydeals, #blackfriday, etc. This will help when people are searching for shopping deals.  Don’t leave it too late or you seriously might miss your window of opportunity. The shopper’s will buy elsewhere and you don’t want to miss out on the sales!

Here are some of the latest products I've been designing for Designs by Shell.

Keep working toward your goals!

Push Yourself a Little Harder

A new year, means a time for new beginnings. A time to set some new goals and challenges and perhaps push yourself a little harder. I don't mean over do it but maybe it's time for you to try something different, challenge yourself with something you've always considered too hard to do. There are many ways to stretch yourself and make small changes to grow.

I like this quote "Small changes eventually add up to huge results" Think about that, baby steps really do make a difference if you're consistent with them.

If you manage an online business like myself you know that you always have to be learning and staying on top of the game. Otherwise literally, you will lose. It's about learning new marketing methods, seeing what changes have taken place as nothing stays the same online for very long. Yes, it can be challenging to learn how to navigate new tools and information but it is all part of running an internet business.

E-commerce has reached crazy heights with new businesses and services exploding onto the web every minute of every day. This is why it is so important to work hard and explore new options to grow your business continually.  Learning new skills and ways to enhance your website can be pretty fun too!

I encourage you to join forums that relate to your business, accept and offer useful advice, read helpful blogs and find new ways to present your business.
